A CFD broker licensed in Mauritius came to us with a payments setup that looked fine on paper. They had card processing, they were live, and deposits were coming in. The problem was what they weren't seeing — the clients who landed on the deposit page, didn't have a card ready, and left.

Card payments work. But in most of the geos this broker was targeting, cards aren't how people prefer to move money. They use bank transfers, mobile wallets, local e-wallets, or region-specific methods that are second nature to them. A deposit page that only shows Visa and Mastercard in these markets is leaving money on the table.

The gap we identified

The broker had traffic across multiple geographies. Their marketing was working. Clients were signing up, completing KYC, and reaching the deposit page. But the conversion from registration to first deposit had a gap that card-only processing couldn't explain on its own.

  • Card processing was the only deposit method available across all target geos
  • No local payment methods — no bank transfers, no e-wallets, no mobile money
  • Clients in markets where card penetration is lower were dropping off at deposit
  • The broker was paying to acquire clients who never funded their accounts

This isn't a niche problem. In markets across Southeast Asia, LATAM, Africa, and parts of MENA, a significant share of potential depositors either don't have an international card, don't want to use it for trading deposits, or simply prefer the method they use for everything else. If that method isn't on the page, they leave — one of the patterns that defines payment processing for CFD brokers operating across multiple regions.

What we set up

We identified the broker's highest-traffic geos and mapped the local payment methods that matter in each one. Then we onboarded them to PSPs that offer those methods with proper acquiring for CFD — not generic payment aggregators that'll flag a broker account in a month.

Each geo got the methods its clients actually use. The deposit page went from a single card form to a localized experience where clients see the payment options they recognize and trust.

  • Mapped payment method preferences across the broker's target geographies
  • Identified PSPs with CFD-specific acquiring that support local methods in each region
  • Onboarded the broker and configured local payment methods per geo
  • Integrated alongside existing card processing — additive, not a replacement

The card processing stayed exactly as it was. We added local methods on top. Clients who want to pay by card still do. Clients who prefer their local method now have that option. The deposit page adapts to the geo.

The result

Revenue increased. The broker was already acquiring the clients — they were just losing them at the last step. Adding local methods removed that friction. Clients who previously bounced off the deposit page now fund their accounts using the method they're comfortable with.

Local methods also convert faster. A client who deposits via a method they use daily has less hesitation than one being asked to type in a card number for a trading platform they just signed up for. The speed from registration to first deposit shortened, and the broker started seeing funded accounts from geos that previously underperformed.

What's running today

The broker now offers card payments alongside local methods across their target geographies. The deposit page is localized — clients see the options relevant to their region. Revenue from previously underperforming geos is consistent, and the cost-per-funded-account dropped because fewer acquired clients are leaking out at deposit.

We continue to manage the PSP relationships and add new methods as the broker expands into additional markets. The infrastructure supports it — adding a new geo is about configuring the methods customers expect locally, not rebuilding the payment stack.

"We were acquiring the clients. We just weren't converting them. Local methods fixed that overnight."
